Hurricane IKE and days after!

We stayed home for IKE. We had two generators and a a/c window unit so we made out pretty good with no lights for almost FOUR DAYS!!! I didn't take many pictures for some reason, probably because thankfully we didn't have any real damage.


Here is me and John Michael in our little fort I made in our laundry room this is where we slept the night of the hurricane. It is the only room in our house that has no windows and is in the center of the house! Yes I was a little worried...

Every morning John Michael and I go out in our yard and get some outside time before it gets too HOT! Well today I thought it would be fun to go feed the ducks at our neighborhood pond, he seemed to like it and of course I had the camera!

Hurricane Gustav!!

As I am sure everyone is aware, Hurricane Gustav hit the Louisiana area pretty bad. My parents and family say that this one is the worst they have seen in their area in a very long time. My parents are still today, Sunday (the Hurricane was last Monday there)with no lights. But Paul, Jill and my grandfather now have lights so at least they have some wheres to stay. I told Dustin with this Hurricane Ike looking like it may come this way he better go get me a generator and a window unit air conditioner because I don't want to be miserable with a baby. But IKE may hit Louisiana as well I really hope it doesn't and gives all those people a break!! Dustin's parents may not have lights for weeks :( It's just crazy!!!

BUT we had a house full since last Wednesday they just left today. John Michael LOVED having the kids,(he had his cousins Ann Blair age 3, Bascoe age 1 and his friend Clayton age 3) he just laughed and laughed all day long. Here are some pictures and videos of our Hurricane party!!! It was a awful experience but we were glad to have the company and we had a blast!!!!
